A person can present their projects for showing as an exhibit at the fair through Open Class, which is now called Public Competitions; Public competitions and registration for competitions can be found on our Contests page HERE.
Open class competitions are now called public competitions; these are the various classes in which the public can enter their project to be exhibited at the fair. These classes are open to anyone; in this category an individual does not have to be involved in an organization such as a club, 4H, or a school-run program to participate in the fair. If you are interested in being a vendor, you must fill out and follow the instructions on your corresponding vendor type application, the applications can be found HERE.
No, the county fair does not hire temporary workers in these capacities. The carnival contractor independently hires temporary workers. The food booth owners arrange for workers prior to the fair; they do not seek temporary help through Marion County.
We do not have any wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs, or strollers available.

The lost & found is in the fair office, which is located in the Log Cabin near the Green Gate.
Fair entertainment is lined up in the spring prior to the fair. Entertainment coordinators work with The Source for big name national acts. Local talent is sought out through the community specifically targeting those willing to perform for free or for a minimal fee. The Marion County Fair is proud to showcase local performers. In order to be considered for a performance, please take a few minutes to fill out this Online Application.

The only dogs allowed on the fairgrounds are those who are pre-registered to participate in events such as the Flyball Tournament, the 4H Dog Obedience classes, or other such organized activities. Officially recognized service dogs with good behavior are also allowed on the grounds.
Currently the fair allows smoking only in designated areas outside. No smoking is allowed in fair buildings or near any exhibits, barns or animals. Designated areas are clearly marked and a locator map is included in the fair program.
